리쾨르 철학에서 타자(l'autre)에서부터 ‘l'étranger’ 문제까지의 지형
이 글은 리쾨르 철학에서 타자(l’autre) 개념에서부터 ‘l'étranger’ 개념에 이르는 문제의 생성과 변화, 그 최종적 도착점, 이 전체의 모습을 그려보려는 아주 큰 기획의 첫 걸음으로 준비된 것이다. 적어도 서양 현대 유럽철학, 특히 현상학이나 해석학에서의 은 물론이겠지만, 리쾨르의 사회 및 정치 철학에서 논의되는 ‘타자’ 개념의 문제를 포함하여, ‘타자적인 것’, ‘다른 것’, ‘외국인’, ‘낯선 것’ 등으로 번역되고 이해되는 ‘l'étranger’개념의 문제 지형은 한 편의 논문의 형태로 정리되거나 요약될 수 없을 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 단숨에 끝날 수는 없는 작업에 무모하게 돌진하기보다는, 길고 지난한 본격적인 탐구에 앞서 이 중요한 문제의 기승전결의 대략적인 그림, 다시 말해 시작점, 성장점, 변곡점 및 종착점에 이르는 표지판 정도를 세우는 예비적 목표를 달성하고자 한다. 결국 필자와 같이 리쾨르 철학에서 광의의 타자의 문제를 천착하려는 사람들이 주목하고 고민해야 할 지점들과 그 논거들을 대략이나마 짚어내고 해명하는 것이 현재 작업의 관건일 것이다. 다시 말해, 타자 문제와 ‘l'étranger’ 문제들이 리쾨르 철학에서 언제, 어떻게 등장하며, 또 다르게 어떻게 변형되어 가는지를 제시하는 것으로 만족하려 한다.
Topography of the problem of l’autre and of ‘l’étranger in the philosophy of Paul Ricoeur
This thesis is a first step in a very large project that depicts the genesis and change of the problem from that of ‘l'autre’ to that of ‘l'étranger’ in the philosophy of Ricoeur and its final destination. At the very least, in European modern philosophy, especially in phenomenology or hermeneutics, the other, the alien and the strangeness, etc. cannot be summarized in the form of a single paper. Therefore, rather than rushing into a project that can not be completed in a short time, this paper suggests a rough picture of the major conundrum of this important problem,\; in other words, a sign that leads to the starting point, the growth point, the inflection point and the final point. We aim to achieve the preliminary goal in this paper. In the end, I would like to point out and clarify the points and reasons why people who want to pursue the problem of strangers in the philosophy of Ricoeur should be concerned about the present work. In other words, I am arguing about the problem of ‘l'autre’ and the problem of 'l'étranger' emerge in Ricoeur's philosophy and how they are transformed differently.
