배려 윤리에서 배려 받는 자의 중요성
이 논문은 나딩스의 배려 윤리에서 배려 받는 자가 누구이며 배려 관계에서 어떤 역할 을 하는지의 물음에 집중한다. 통상적으로 배려는 여성적 인 개념으로서 여성적 관점의 윤리를 일컫는 것이라고 이해되고 있다. 그러나 논자는 나딩스가 배려 받는 자를 강조함으 로써 단지 여성적 입장을 대변하는 윤리가 아니라 타자 전체를 책임지는 관계로서 배려 윤 리의 새로운 지평이 열린다고 본다. 말하자면 캐롤 길리건이 여성의 다른 목소리 를 통해 배려 윤리를 이해했다면, 나딩스는 배려 받는 자의 중요성을 보여 줌으로써 타자와 그 타 자에 응답하는 자로서 주체라는 보다 분명한 타자와 주체 간의 관계를 보여 준다. 나딩스 의 배려 윤리에서 배려 받는 자의 역할의 중요성에 대한 논의는 더 나아가 또 다른 타자들 에 대한 책임의 확대 문제를 불러일으킨다. 따라서 논자는 이를 바탕으로 배려가 친밀한 관계로부터 낯선 타자에 이르기까지 어떻게 확장될 수 있는지를 보여주고 그것이 결국 주 체인 나의 책임을 강조하고 있음을 보여주고자 한다. 이런 논의를 위해 우선 논자는 메이어옵과 길리건 그리고 나딩스에 이르기까지 이들의 논의에서 배려가 단순히 여성적 관점만을 지칭하는 것이 아니라는 점을 보여줄 것이다. 이어서 나딩스의 배려 윤리에서 배려 받는 자가 배려 관계를 완수하는 지표로서 중요한 역 할을 담당하고 있음을 이해하면서 배려 받는 자의 의미를 이해하게 될 것이다. 마지막으로 친밀함이라는 관계 속에서 이루어지는 배려 관계가 낯선 자, 즉 제삼자에 이르기까지 원과 사슬이라는 관계를 통해 배려에 대한 책임이 확장될 수 있다는 것을 이해하게 될 것이다. 이런 논의 속에서 논자는 배려 받는 자를 위한 자로서, 즉 그런 배려 받는 자와 관계하는 혹은 부름에 답하는 유일한 자로서 주체의 정체성에 대해 다시 한 번 확인하게 될 것이다.
The Importance of The Cared-for in The Caring Ethics
This thesis focuses on the question of who is cared for in Noddings ethics and what role it plays in the caring relationship. It is generally understood that consideration is a feminine concept that refers to the ethics of a feminine point of view. However, I believe that Noddings opens up a new horizon for caring ethics as a relationship that is responsible for the other, not for the feminine position by emphasizing the person who is cared for. In other words, if Carol Gilligan understands the ethics of caring through a woman's different voice, Noddings shows the importance of the cared-for, showing the relationship between the other and the subject as a person who responds to the other. The discussion of the importance of the role of the cared-for in Noddings ethics further raises the question of expanding responsibility for the other. Therefore, based on this, I will show how the responsibilities namely the caring, can extend from intimate relationships to unfamiliar other. For this discussion, first of all, I will show that consideration does not simply refer to a feminine perspective in their discussions, from Mayeroff, Gilligan and Noddings. You will then understand the meaning of the caredfor in Noddings ethics, understanding that he plays an important role as an indicator of completing the caring relationship. Finally, you will understand that the responsibility for caring can be extended through the relationship between circle and chain to strangers in the relationship of intimacy. In this discussion, I will once again confirm the identity of the subject as a person who is cared for, ie. as the only one who is concerned with or answering the call.
